Launch of national initiative to promote economic integration of
refugees:

"ANKOMMER. Perspektive Deutschland"
- It is aimed at 12 start-up businesses and initiatives with ideas on
innovative and transferable solutions for improving refugees' job
prospects in Germany
- KfW Stiftung and Social Impact gGmbH offer professional guidance
and support during the start-up phase
- Application deadline ends 11 October 2015

Arriving means more than simply being welcome. It means becoming
part of a community and playing an active role in it. For this
reason, KfW Stiftung and Social Impact gGmbH have launched a grant
scheme under the patronage of the Minister for Economic Affairs
Sigmar Gabriel. "ANKOMMER. Perspektive Deutschland" supports projects
and initiatives that give refugees the opportunity to take part in
the German society and economy.

"ANKOMMER. Perspektive Deutschland" is aimed at new start-up
businesses and initiatives by (social) entrepreneurs that come up
with innovative and transferable solutions to improve refugees'
access to education and to expand the training and job opportunities
available to them. The selected participants will be supported by a
grant programme that allows them to develop their ideas with the help
of an interdisciplinary team of experts and to turn them into viable
business solutions. The activities will take place across all Social
Impact Labs of Social Impact gGmbH in Germany, the meeting place for
social innovators.

The Minister for Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel welcomed the
launch of the project, saying:

"The large numbers of refugees arriving on our shores pose great
social and economic challenges to Europe and Germany. These
challenges cannot be addressed at the local level alone - the whole
of society must work together for a better social and economic

integration of refugees. The project ANKOMMER. Perspektive
Deutschland supported by KfW Stiftung and by Social Impact gGmbH is a
step on the way to achieving this aim."

Norbert Kunz, CEO of Social Impact gGmbH, commented:

"ANKOMMER. Perspektive Deutschland' is a strong signal addressing
our need for innovative ideas and viable solutions that allow
refugees to make use of their talents and skills and to take an
active part in rebuilding their lives in a new country."

Dr. Edeltraud Leibrock, member of the Board of KfW Stiftung,
stated:

"By supporting the project 'ANKOMMER. Perspektive Deutschland',
KfW Stiftung is helping refugees to improve their prospects of ending
their reliance on social security benefits, to lead independent lives
and to take an active part in society."

The grant:

The grant is awarded for up to eight months and includes
activities worth EUR12,500, such as coaching, professional
consulting, workshops and a co-working space at Social Impact gGmbH
in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig and soon Duisburg. The grant
holders are eligible for financial aid paid as a lump sum of up to
EUR4,000. At the end of the grant programme, the three best projects
will each receive a reward of EUR20,000 for the launch of their
initiatives. After the programme has ended, grant holders can take
part in a tandem programme involving partners from the business or
service sector who will continue to develop the proposed solutions
together with the participants so that their projects can be
implemented in practice. Those interested in the grant can apply
online at www.ankommer.eu by 11 October 2015.
