Mom-Domains: No .com, then .mom!

The registration for this domain will be open in the sunrise period starting from February 24th, 2016 to March 25th, 2016. All the trademark holders will be able to register the Mom-Domain in the sunrise period.

The general registration for the Mom-Domain is open since April 2016 and people can get their names registered as yourname.mom. The short and simple domain name is suitable for the internet marketers who want their name to be memorable to the clients. The. mom domain can be used to create an e-mail address for the mothers or anyone else and it'll look like Elisabeth(at)miller.mom. The user does not need to follow any special requirements to register on the Mom domain and the extension is open to everybody over the internet.

A study by Searchmetrics has suggested that websites with Berlin Domains (http://www.domainregistry.de/berlin-domains.html)often rank better in regional search queries entered in Google. The study states, "In 42% of search queries, .berlin domains have ranked better on a local level."

Another study by Total websites in Houston also suggested that the results of the Searchmetrics study are practically transferable to all new top-level domains including the new Mom-Domains. Total websites also stated that Google considers the domain extensions of the new Top-level domains as an important criterion for the evaluation of a domain and mentions that, "It is clear that the new top-level domains improve the ranking in search engines."

Apart from the Mom-domains, the users also have a chance to register with .dad (http://www.domainregistry.de/dad-domain.html) and .family domains (http://www.domainregistry.de/family-domain.html) such as yourname.family or yourname.dad.
