(firmenpresse) - Berlin/Amman. The firm ETLog Health EnviroTech & Logistics GmbH received the assignment to carry out a waste project in Jordan for 4 months from March 2006. The undertaking will be financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) and the firm WEBECO Hygiene in Medizin und Labor GmbH & Co. KG.
Based on the results of a report from the German Association for Technical Co-operation (GTZ) GmbH, a project was initiated, supported by the Jordanian ministry of health.
Taking its example form the largest hospital in Jordan, - Al Basheer hospital - new waste management technologies will be introduced and the staff for this project will be prepared for their task with a special training plan. Additionally, a waste management system will be introduced. The task of ETLog Health GmbH is to provide support for the planning and instruction of local officials. Furthermore, the hospital waste specialists will participate in a national training system for the disposal of hospital waste. Here, the Berlin firm will work closely with the Jordanian Ministry of Health. At the conclusion of the project, ETLog Health GmbH will contribute to the organization of a conference in which the results will be presented to an international public.
According to the German embassy in Amman, this is the first project in Jordan dealing with waste control and waste processing for hospitals. The embassy added that a contribution from the WHO (World Health Organization) is intended.
The political relations between Jordan and Germany have been close and friendly for a long time. They are maintained by regular official visits: the German foreign minister Steinmeier visited Jordan within the framework of a Middle East trip on the 14. February 2006.
